There are two levels of service for our in office treatment:
- Our introductory level uses a silicone tray that is preloaded with our hydrogen peroxide based whitening formula. You will apply Vitamin E to your gums and lips to create a barrier that prevents the whitening gel from coming in contact with your lips or gums. You then insert the preloaded tray into your mouth in a comfortable position. A professionally trained technician will then align our professional strength L.E.D. light to your tray to begin the whitening process.
- Our Pro Select and Pro Flash services use higher grades of hydrogen peroxide. For both of these treatments the whitening formula is painted directly on your teeth eliminating the need for a tray to be in your mouth. The professional strength L.E.D. light is then aligned directly at your teeth.
Both these whitening treatments use L.E.D. lights to intensify the release of hydroxyl radicals from the gel, which results in a faster removal of stains not only from the surface enamel but also those deeper in the dentin of the teeth. You will be guided through the entire treatment by one of our trained technicians.
Most of these types of whitening kits contain very low percentages of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. The only way in which teeth can be whitened is with the use of ingredients containing hydrogen peroxide consisting of at minimum 15%. Anything less is simply not strong enough to produce professional results. Most over the counter kits will only start to remove surface stains due to the low strength of hydrogen peroxide they contain.
Whitening Strips have the same disadvantages. When you look at the ingredients you will typically find only a small percentage of hydrogen peroxide if any at all. Feedback we get from most clients is that whitening strips are uncomfortable, cause sensitivity to the teeth, are a lengthy process and don’t provide the results they are expecting.
There are many advantages to the Smiling Bright process:
- Our process is up to 75% less expensive and just as effective and in many instances more effective than Zoom.
- We use the L.E.D. light instead of a UV light, eliminating sensitivity to gums and teeth.
- Our whitening formulas have been developed using a higher grade of Hydrogen Peroxide and are specially made to eliminate sensitivity.
- Our one-hour session is a full hour where Zoom is often only 45 minutes.
- Our process is painless
The primary reason why everyone loves our treatment is that we pretty much eliminate the sensitivity and pain issues that have been associated with teeth whitening but still deliver the same if not better results.
For the first 24 hours, we recommend staying away from food and beverages that are more likely to stain such as coffee, tea, beers, wines, colas, juices, beets, berries, candy, marinara sauce, chocolate, greens etc. and smoking of any kind. Keep in mind your teeth are going to continue to brighten for the next 24-48 hours after your treatment as the hydrogen peroxide filters through your teeth. If possible, in order to maximize your level of whiteness we recommend refraining from beverages and foods that stain during this period.
The teeth whitening process consists of two phases, the whitening process and then maintenance. Generally the whitening phase can be achieved in 1-4 hours (depending on how stained the teeth are) and our recommendation for maintenance would be a 30 minute session ever3-4 months. Remember the total number of treatments is dependent on the amounts and frequency of your consumption of staining foods and drinks and for how long those stains have accumulated. Some people may be satisfied after one treatment, however it could take several treatments to achieve your desired results.
Other companies may offer teeth whitening services, but we SPECIALIZE in it. We offer both in office and @ home solutions, and very few competitors provide both options to consumers. We use only the highest grade of professional whitening formulas in all of our products.
Anyone can enjoy the benefits of our professional in-store or @ home professional whitening systems. Teeth can be whitened back to their genetic shade of white. The degree of whiteness you desire may require more than one teeth whitening session depending on the individual characteristics of your teeth. We maintain a 99% success and client satisfactory rating.
Yes, professional teeth whitening is incredibly safe. The whitening process uses active ingredients to temporarily open the pores in your teeth and lift the stains. After each session, your teeth will naturally re-mineralize and rehydrate thus closing the pores. The Smiling Bright professional in store or @ home whitening systems are safe, self administered, affordable and highly effective procedures focused on restoring your beautiful white smile.
One of the reasons most people love our system is because we have eliminated sensitivity with development of our formulas. A very small percentage of people may experience sensitivity and it is usually caused by overexposure to the whitening gel. This is temporary and has no lasting effect. One of the preventative measures we take is having you apply vitamin e oil to your gums before the treatment. This protects the gums from exposure to the whitening gel.
If you have never professionally whitened your teeth before or if it has been a 6 months or longer since your last whitening we recommend that you start with the 60-minute session. The results of whitening will definitely correlate with the length of time you have the gel and light on your teeth. The hour session allows for the penetration deeper into the dentin of your teeth. Our 30-minute session is recommended more for a maintenance boost for someone who has already started the whitening process.
Our Everyday Services are our introductory price point to a more affordable option to try out the teeth whitening process. This process consists of wearing a preloaded silicone tray that contains our hydrogen peroxide based whitening formula. The light is then aligned with the tray for the treatment process.
Our ProFlash services use a higher grade of hydrogen and this process is self administered by painting the gel directly on your teeth. With the removal of the tray we are able to achieve a more uniform color to more of your smile as well as eliminate any sensitivity or irritation. The higher grade of hydrogen peroxide achieves more dramatic results. If you have never had your teeth professionally whitened or haven’t whitened in more than 6 months we recommend our ProFlash service instead of the tray service.
Almost all natural teeth will whiten. Everyone’s teeth are different and the shades of improvement will differ as well. Genetic and heredity factors combined with the type of stain, the age of the stain, and prior history of your teeth all play a role in the speed and degree of whitening you will experience. Regardless of your stains, the natural color (and genetic makeup) of your teeth set at birth. The whitening process can remove the stains that have accumulated over time. You will never know just how white your teeth can be until you try!
Clients with severe stains should be patient with the process and understand that while each whitening session will remove years of stains, it may take more than one session to get back to your genetic white color. The good news is, once those stains are gone, it is very easy to maintain your new bright smile.
You should refrain from whitening your teeth with our in office treatment or our @ home professional whitening systems if you:
- Are pregnant or nursing. No known side effects are affirmed, but as a precaution we recommend you consult your doctor first for approval prior to your visit.
- Are under the age of 12 years. For clients age 12-16 we require parent/guardian approval.
- Wear metal braces. We cannot whiten teeth if there is any type of metal attached or touching the teeth. We do recommend doing a treatment as soon as your braces are removed.
- Are allergic to any listed ingredient (carbamide peroxide, hydrogen peroxide, propylene glycol, glycerin, artificial flavoring)
- Have a condition called photo-sensitivity (sensitivity to the ultraviolet (UV) rays from sunlight and other light sources) and on medication to prevent seizures caused by photosensitivity.
If any of the above statements are cause for concern please consult your dentist prior to using any teeth whitening services.
Absolutely! Our in office or @ home professional whitening systems can remove stains from your dental work and restore them to the original color they were when they were put in.
Generally there are no side effects from professional teeth whitening. As part of your appointment we will review the entire treatment process and can answer any specific questions you have after we have examined your teeth.
Research has shown that if teeth and gums are normal and healthy there are no adverse effects to whitening your teeth. Our teeth whitening gel formulas are the same professional grade formulas used by dentists for years and have been proven both safe and effective. Smiling Bright’s formulas are neutral pH balanced to support the overall health of your teeth. Be sure to carefully review the ingredients of over the counter kits, as they may contain a wide range of chemicals and acidic formulas that can actually damage tooth enamel.
In general, stains accumulate from the frequency of exposure to drinks and foods that have a propensity to stain enamel: coffee, tea, juices, cola, wine, beets, berries, red sauces, green vegetables etc. Nicotine from smoking is one of the most common causes of teeth discoloration. Antibiotics, namely tetracycline and doxycycline are also known to cause teeth discoloration in children whose teeth are still developing. Throughout your life, there is really no way of avoiding teeth discoloration; even age causes your teeth to become yellowish as well.
Stains that penetrate the enamel and stain the dentin of the tooth, which is the white part of the tooth, cause the discoloration. Your teeth have pores just like your skin. Anything you put in your mouth that has color will absorb into those pores. Over time the natural color of your teeth become darker due to the build up of these stains.
Our clients have been able to drastically improve their smiles by reducing their tetracycline staining through use of our in store treatments or our @ home professional teeth whitening systems. Our products and services work because of their high degree of professional strength hydrogen peroxide. You may require multiple treatments to achieve your desired results based on the severity of your stains. This type of staining will require a commitment to maintenance sessions to keep your smiling looking its best.
Calcium deposits, streaks or spots (Enamel Hypo-calcification) are the areas of your tooth that contain hypo-calcified enamel. They are brighter in color and will generally appear to whiten faster than the rest of the tooth but will then fade within a few days as the teeth rehydrate. The teeth whitening process don’t cause calcium spots on your teeth. In fact, they were there before your teeth were whitened, but may not have been as noticeable or noticeable at all because the build up of stains hiding them.
It is also important to understand that typically calcium deposits start to form in the developmental stage of the teeth when we are very young. They can also develop when we wear braces, as the calcium tends to gather under the part of the brace that is attached to the tooth where it is difficult to perform proper oral hygiene.
The whitening process actually helps to blend the calcium deposits with your teeth. These deposits will be minimized as the enamel around the calcium spots are whitened.
You can use this kit twice a week for the duration of the gel. You would apply 1.50 lines of gel from the syringe into the tray for your upper teeth and 1.50 lines of the gel from the syringe into the tray for your bottom teeth. This should give you a total 15 treatments. You can leave the trays in your mouth for up to 30 minutes. We do not recommend leaving them longer at any one time.
We recommend using after each brushing and prior to consuming any staining foods or beverages. A very thin coat is applied about 15 minutes before eating so it is allowed to dry right into the teeth. This formula has a dual purpose. When applied prior to eating it will work as a stain protector as well as continuing to whiten your smile. It is safe to use several times a day as needed. Teeth will whiten over a period of time with consistent use and results are best when used at minimum once a day.
Our @ home professional teeth whitening systems are as powerful as our in store services, and provide you the ability to achieve the same results over a longer period of time in the comfort of your own home at a fraction of the cost that you would have to spend with your dentist or on any over the counter remedies.
Our at home products have a shelf life of up to 2 years. Teeth whitening products should be stored in a location that does not get direct sunlight.
Yes, you can go on line and purchase either our 10ml carbamide peroxide gel syringes containing professional strength whitening gel. Our 10ml is good for (15) 35-minute treatments. Never apply more gel than required and be sure that the gel does not overflow onto your gums.
Yes, that’s why we use the highest percentage and safest hydrogen peroxide based formulas available. Don’t be fooled by products that refrain from telling you the ingredients or don’t contain at least 15% any hydrogen peroxide as an ingredient.
