Teeth Whitening for Children (ages 12-16)
Children can begin a teeth-whitening program once all their permanent teeth have completely come in, which typically occurs by age 12 or 13.
Smiling Bright suggests the following when having braces applied:

Whiten your children’s teeth 1-2 months prior to applying braces to start the breakdown of any discoloration.

It is ideal to whiten again once the braces are removed to even out the tone of all teeth. We recommend for the first time whitening after braces are removed your child do a 60-minute session.

You can easily maintain your children’s brighter and whiter smile by whitening their teeth 2-3 times per year based on their eating and drinking habits.

Smiling Bright offers specially developed hydrogen peroxide gels in a variety of strengths.
Our whitening process for children:

The specially formulated Pro Xtract pre treatment is applied to accelerate the stain removing process, allowing for deeper penetration of the whitening gels.

The whitening gel is then applied to each tooth, insuring an even toned and uniform smile.

Our 60-minute session is done in back to back 30 minutes sessions with a break in between. Applying the gel twice helps to maximize the whitening results.

Our Pro Enamel Enhancer is a treatment after the whitening process to remineralize the enamel.

Everyone’s teeth are different so keep in mind depending on the level of discoloration your child may require more than one session to reach their optimal whiteness.
Tips for Maintaining Children’s Teeth Whitening:

Encourage your children to brush regularly and if not in a place where they can brush to rinse after eating. This is important to limit sugars and acids from remaining on the enamel.

Be sure to see your dentist twice a year to maintain oral health.
